january, 2014.
on a rainy day, while pixel was taking a nap,
i made spinach rice gratin* & chocolate ice cream.
with chocolate chips!
and without an ice cream machine

it's so incredibly tasty and so perfect for lunch, i can't resist.

a lovely letter from nini i got a while back
she always sends little presents for pixel
and he enjoys them very, very much.

magically, the little bird is still in one piece
and it's his favourite thing to chew on while he's being groomed

pixel is two years old today ♥

it's been one year and 10 months since he first came in
and we still go "awwww" with every little thing he does.
we're making him a little tuna cake; a new card-box as well
we'll play hide and seek and catch paper balls, too.

april, 2013.
few times i had been so excited to do my homework
as i am with cooking classes.


i was determined to use my great grandmother's pasta machine
unfortunately, and after several attempts at cleaning it,
sitting on a shelve for many years took it's toll and it was too dirty
and i ended rolling it out by hand.
i'd like to think that that would've made her even more proud.

away & back

dear friends,

i've been selfishly away:
working on personal projects,
embroidering my heart out every day,
attending workshops and cooking classes.
free time doesn't come often, so i had to make the most of it
and suddenly free time was not free at all.


i hadn't had the chance to work on little handmade presents
and because of that i haven't mailed the letters yet
and so they sit in my desk half finished, longing to be sent
which they'll be, hopefully next week!

ps2. i opened a little shop

just a minute in november

november was a busy, busy month.
but also one filled with tilia trees and rain,
streets painted lavender with jacaranda flowers
and lots and lots of chirping birds

reading to the lightouse, virginia woolf
watching dear lemon lima ♥
working a lot. too many books, so little time.
making lists of spots and sights for our upcoming mini trip to the mountains. a few more weeks and m. & i will be surrounded by nature and ancient trees.

one

pixel is one year old today ♥
he was so tiny when he first came home, ten months ago


he's a little devil and we love him lots because of it,
so sweet and cuddleable.

garden beets

june 2012.
several weeks ago my sister and grandmother came to visit
together we made beetroot gnocchi and played with little pixel

the very next day we went ice skating with friends
and later came back home and made even more gnocchi

i've been working non-stop for the last couple of weeks and, in top of that, pixel's been sick.
july tends to be one of my busiest months.

i hope to be properly back in about a week,
visiting your blogs to see what you're up to and replying to all the lovely comments.
meanwhile, i'll leave you with a few scheduled posts, hope that's ok : )

a few weeks ago i went to a needle felting workshop
i did a little wizardly polar bear with a starry pointy hat
and then a little mouse for pixel to play with ♥

asleep on a sunbeam

sometimes i wish i lived in a small house with a big garden
and not a tiny window

the sweet scent of sun dried clothes,
the soft touch of grass beneath my feet
life's little pleasures.

a day in may

today i'll cuddle with pixel, put on a pretty dress & drink some tea
have lunch with my grandma, attend a cooking workshop with i. 
and later go out for ice cream with m. 

i will also be a year older, not so sure if i'll be wiser.

i'm a terrible blogger :(
the last couple of weeks have been quite busy and just got around developing the two rolls from march.

over a month ago my grandmother came to visit
we cooked together and later on play with pixel
they had a blast.
