film friday: oz the great and powerful

"if it was easy we wouldn't need a wizard, would we?"

oz the great and powerful. 2013

having grown up with singing along to judy garland
(to whom i blame of my obsession with red shoes)
and dancing with diana ross & michael jackson
there are really no other versions of the wizard of oz i'll ever love,
specially not one with so much (so, so much!) cgi.

i confess that my 10 year old heart broke a little
when i saw that overly digital emerald city
and the oh, so different yellow brick road,
but oh well, legal issues :(

however, i did quite enjoyed the winks to the 1939's movie.
i also liked the fact that they kept it closer to the books
and the land of oz is a real place that,
if you're lucky, you might just be able to go to
and not something out of a dream ♥

in the end, all i wanted to do was sing
and then sing some more ♥♥♥

you can check vix's post here

hope you have a lovely weekend

  2. I agree. Too much cgi. I didn't like it at all. I thought it was boring and childish (in a bad way, a bit silly).
