film friday: jane eyre

"i am no bird; and no net ensnares me:  i am a free human being with an independent will."

jane eyre, 2011.

it is a fact, the older i get the more i love jane eyre.
i grew up watching the 90s version,  but i loved this one
the settings, the lighting, all those tiny details
it was ever so beautiful with just the right amount of gloomy
(i can't speak of faithfulness to the book, as i have yet to read it
which i will. very, very soon)

you can check vix's post here

hope you have a lovely weekend

ps. i'll share some new film photos next week.
also, i've loaded my zenit with a new roll and can't wait to get it developed :)

    1. aww, thank you! hihihi
this week's original film friday was the bling ring, actually, but had to change it. i love sofia, the virgin suicides, lost in translation and marie antoinette are all so wonderful. but the bling ring i could not stand. my friend couldn't even get past the first twenty minutes :(

    1. you're welcome! :)
i've heard from some friends who read the book that it is not the truest of adaptations
but it is very beautiful to look at :)

  3. SUCH an amazing film. I find it rare that a film ever lives up (or almost lives up) to a book, but this one does.

  4. I like your 'film friday' posts. I have to say: regularly, after reading your post I watch a proposed movie. Actually this one I saw when it appeared in the cinemas in Poland but 'populaire' (i like it) and 'badlands' (i dont't like it:( I haven't seen before. Thank you Toi for 'film friday':)

    1. oh, i'm so honoured to read that ♥♥

and badlands is certainly not an easy movie, it can be very, very cruel and harsh :(

  5. I have read the book and the movie is quite faithful, at least faithful enough. And you are right, the details, the ambience, the colors are simply beautiful and exquisite. And I loved Mia and Fassbender, they do a great job.
